Steatit

Steatite is a magnesium silicate containing up to 90 % soapstone, as well as clays and fluxing agents. Particular characteristics of steatite are very good processability and machinability. Steatite is fired at temperatures between 1,300 and 1,400° C ensuring high density and outstanding mechanical strength. The steatite material itself is obtained from crystallization, melting and dissolution processes that occur during sintering. Components made of steatite can be glazed to obtain dirt repellent surfaces.

Our high-frequency steatite with high structural density is marketed under the name STEALAN
